IS THE ASHFORD FORMULA A COATING?
NO.
The Ashford Formula is a chemically-reactive liquid hardener and densifier. It protects the surface of the concrete not by coating it, but by increasing the density and durability of the wearing surface. Once the Ashford Formula has penetrated the concrete and reacted with it, there is no Ashford left. What remains is a crystalline-densified version of the concrete that was there in the first place. There is no coating, film or membrane to scratch, wear, or peel.

Using a 7-foot (2.13 m) head of water on a 4.91 square inch (124.71 mm) area treated with the Ashford Formula, the treated sample only allowed a seepage rate of 0.00073 oz (0.022 cc) per hour. After several days, the treated sample became damp, but no local seepage was observed.

Samples treated with the Ashford Formula were found to be far less slippery than untreated samples. The coefficient of friction on steel-troweled samples treated with the Ashford Formula versus the reference tile were (a higher ratio represents a reduction in slippage):

Wet - 0.69 vs. 0.47

In order to meet growing production needs, Dai Dong Tien has refurbished its older factories and built new ones.
In 2005, team Ashford Formula Vietnam performed an initial trial to show Dai Dong Tien how well the Ashford Formula performs. The floor results were scientifically verified by an independent testing laboratory. After seeing the results, Dai Dong Tien asked Ashford Formula Vietnam to apply the Ashford Formula to the concrete floors of five of their newly built factories
